Children of the ages three through five
Our camp is the perfect antidote to the busy, scheduled lives many of our children lead during the school year. In keeping with New Horizons’ commitment to reconnect children with the beauty of the real world, children will have the freedom to follow their interests and passions within a safe, natural setting, supervised by caring adults without excessive direction.

Campers may register for two through eight weeks. Our campers will explore and interact with the natural wonders of our own backyard. Children will participate in such activities as sewing and knitting, gardening, cooking, drama, supervised free play and water play. Our Teachers will instruct the campers in Spanish, painting, science, and Yoga.
Art: Campers will use various mediums to express their innate creativity.
Building: Children will learn how to build shelters using only the simplest of tools and natural materials right in our own “Adventure Park”!
Spanish Club: Campers will be immersed in the Spanish language & learn songs & phrases.
Gardening: Children will discover just how Mary’s garden grows by tending our raised bed gardens!
Méthode Naturelle: Inspired by Georges Herbert, kids will run, jump and climb to overcome obstacles in their environment!
Flight: Children will build and fly paper airplanes and kites and learn what birds have known all along!
Mind and Body Arts: This is a Yoga class in the true meaning of the word. It is an exploration of many disciplines for unifying the body and mind. The campers will experience practices such as Hatha Yoga, Aikido, and Ki development.
Drama: Kids will discover there are no “small parts, only small actors!” This class will explore improvisation, reader’s theatre and more!
Sewing and Knitting: Campers will learn the basic stitches in sewing and knitting. Patterns, color and design will also be explored.
What did you enjoy most when you played outdoors? Maybe you made messy mud pies by a creekbed, swung on a vine, or played hide-and-seek among the willow trees.
Campers at New Horizons’ Summer Art & Nature Camp will learn new games, play, sing, listen to & tell stories - a summer camp that will make you wish you were a kid again.
